In addition to soloists and music collectives performing at concerts Rapla Church Music Festival will also bring to Rapla County outstanding pedagogues as teachers into summer academies.For ninth year in a row, summer academies are expecting participants to register for them from here and abroad. On 31st of July, international string instrument stars will arrive to Rapla in cooperation with the Alion Baltic Music Festival, among whom one of the brightest is world famous violinist Sergei Stadler. The learning period in the Summer Academy for String Players will last until 4th of August, where with Prof. Stadler Stanislav Pronin (violin, Germany/Canada), Anastasia de Haan (violin, Netherlands), Sumiko Tajihi (violin, Japan/USA), Marco Misciagna (viola, Italy), Chiu-Chen Liu (viola, Taiwan/USA) and Levi-Danel Mägila (cello, Estonia) will share their knowledge and skills. The Rapla Summer Academy and Alion Baltic Festival Chamber Orchestra, which was composed in the context of the summer academy, will give a final concert in Rapla church on 3rd of August and in Tallinn House of the Blackheads on 4th of August conducted by Sergei Stadler. 

 

 

SERGEI STADLER Russian violinist, teacher, and conductor Sergei Stadler graduated St. Petersburg Conservatory, studied the violin with David Oistrakh and Leonid Kogan and took the first prize and gold medal in the 1982 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. He is a laureate of the Jacques Thibaud competition in Paris, where he won the Grand Prize in 1980. He has performed as soloist with the London Philharmonic, the Russian National Symphony, and the Dresden Staatskapelle Orchestras, collaborating with world famous conductors, including Kurt Mazur, Gennadi Rozhdestvensky, Mariss Jansons, Evgeny Svetlanov and Yuri Termirkanov. During some years he was Artistic Director of the State Theatre of Opera and Ballet of the St Petersburg Conservatory and of the Ekaterinburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. Sergei Stadler is currently the conductor and Music Director of Sankt-Peterburg Symphony and is the People`s artist of Russian Federation.
