KADRI KÕRVEK began her musical journey at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School, graduating in 2013. She then continued her studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in vocal performance in 2019 and is currently pursuing her master's degree in the same field. Her professional career gained significant momentum in 2017, when she joined the choir of the Estonian National Opera. Since autumn 2024, she has also been a soloist at the same theatre. Kõrvek’s accomplishments as a singer have received wide recognition. In 2022, she won 2nd prize at the Vello Jürna Vocalist Competition and was awarded a special prize by the Vanemuine Theatre.
Her repertoire is versatile and includes both opera and musical theatre. Among her most important roles are:
Kate Pinkerton (Puccini’s Madama Butterfly), Second Sister (Puccini’s Suor Angelica), Witch (Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas), Malvina (Ehala’s Buratino), Susanna (Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro), First Lady (Mozart’s The Magic Flute), Juliette Vermont (Lehár’s The Count of Luxembourg), Hodel (Bock’s Fiddler on the Roof), Prima Donna (Jõekalda’s Operetta King Imre Kálmán), Micaëla (Bizet’s Carmen), Diana (Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld), Valencienne (Lehár’s The Merry Widow), Squirrel’s Shadow / Little Cat (Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges).
TIIA TENNO is one of the most distinguished organists on the Estonian music scene, both as a soloist and an ensemble partner. She graduated in piano from the Heino Eller Tartu Music School (with Anu Antson), and in organ performance from both the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (with professors Hugo Lepnurm, Ines Maidre, and Andres Uibo) and the Higher Church Music School in Herford, Germany. In addition, she has furthered her studies at the Hamburg University of Music (with Prof. Wolfgang Zerer) and participated in numerous masterclasses with renowned organists (Bernhard Haas, Wolfgang Zerer, Jon Laukvik, Andrea Marconi, Peter van Dijk, Ewald Kooimann). Since 1996, Tenno has worked as an organist and choir conductor at St. John’s Church in Tallinn and is one of the founders and board members of the St. John’s Church Organ Fund. She has also worked as an organist and choir conductor in the Schnathorst congregation in Germany and the Lunde congregation in Norway, and served as head of the Church Music Department at the Estonian Theological Institute (2004–2007). Tenno has collaborated with many outstanding performers (Pille Lill, Oksana Sinkova, Neeme Ots, Toomas Vavilov, Arete Teemets, among others) and given numerous solo concerts in Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Estonia. She has frequently appeared at the Tallinn International Organ Festival, Tallinn Chamber Music Festival, Rapla Church Music Festival, and others. As a soloist, she has performed with the Estonian-Finnish Baroque Orchestra and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. Her performances have been widely recorded by Estonian Public Broadcasting and released on several compilation albums: “Valuable Estonian Organs” (ERES, 2000); “Baroque Pictures” with trumpeter Neeme Ots (2015). Tenno has been a member of the Estonian Society of Organ Friends since 1999 and of the Estonian Performers’ Association since 2014. She is also a scholarship recipient of the PLMF Music Trust.
