The ensemble combines youthful boldness with the wisdom and experience of chamber music performance. At present, the quartet’s repertoire includes music from many different countries, ranging from Europe to Africa. Saxissima consists of: Rene Laur – soprano saxophone, Emily Urla – alto saxophone, Lauri Sepp – tenor saxophone, and Tanel Koho – baritone saxophone. All four saxophonists are also actively engaged in pedagogical work, teaching at MUBA, Heino Eller Music School in Tartu, Pärnu Music School, the Kullo Hobby Centre, and elsewhere. In the future, the saxophone quartet Saxissima aims to collaborate with leading Estonian and international performers, serve as an inspiration to their students, and offer audiences engaging concert programs.
