NEEME OTS

began his studies at the age of six under the guidance of his father, dots. Aavo Ots and he has defended a bachelor’s degree at the Helsinki Sibelius Academy (2011). The studies continued at the same place at the masters’ level, where he furthered his skills in the context of an Erasmus program during 2013 in Madrid. N. Ots has taken part of the master courses of several distinguished trumpet pedagogues and he has been awarded with several prizes at competitions in Estonia and abroad. Chamber concerts have brought him together with such reputed interprets as M. Voites, M. Palm, A. Teemets, I. Zahharenkova etc. N. Ots has been a soloist in front of several well-known orchestras, he has been invited to perform as a soloist at several festivals and he has cooperated with such outstanding conductors as J.-P. Saraste, K. Järvi, L. Segerstam, M. Lehtinen etc. He has been a concert master of the trumpet group in several different youth orchestras with which he has performed in Estonia and abroad. In 2015, his first CD “Baroque Pictures” was released in cooperation with the organ player Tiia Tenno.    

 

AARNE OTS
is the elder son of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre’s professor Aavo Ots’ great family of musicians. He has won the I Prize and the Special Prize at the international competition of Andrejs Jurjans in Riga (2006) and the classical music competition of Julius Vaks in Suure-Jaani (2008). A. Ots has participated in the master courses of Eric Obier, Hans Gansch, Konradin Groth, Reinhold Friedrich, Carlos Beneto Gray, Juanjo Serna Salvador, Adán Delgado Illada and Guy Touvron. He has been a soloist in front of various orchestras in Germany, Austria and Latvia. In 2008, he played as a soloist in front of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic in the context of Reinhold Friedrich's master course. In 2009, he played in the finale of European Yamaha Trumpet Competition in Hamburg, performed as a soloist at ESTO days in Münster and in front of The Orchestra of the Estonian Defence Forces (conductor Peter Saan). In 2013, A. Ots performed as a soloist at the XI ESTO days and gave a solo concert at the Tenerife Festival.

 

 

VILLEM ENDEL TIITS
is one of the most prominent young trumpet players from Pärnu. In 2015, he graduated from Pärnu Music School and continued his studies at Tallinn Music High School under the guidance of assistant professor Aavo Ots. In the same year, he earned the scholarship of Pärnu's best participant of recreational activities. Since 2018 he studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Aavo Ots’ trumpet class. He has played in Pärnu City Orchestra, in the Tallinn Music High School Symphony Orchestra, in the Estonian Youth Concert Orchestra, in the Järvi Academy Youth Symphony Orchestra and has played in the projects in the Tartu Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra. Villem has also taken part of trumpet contests in Estonia and abroad: “Best Young Instrumentalist” (2013 and 2015, 3rd place), “Trumpet Talents 2016” (Tallinn, 3rd place) and “Young Trumpetist” (Jekabpils, Latvia: 2016, 3rd place). He has also attended several master courses in Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, etc. Villem is actively involved in the work of the Estonian Youth Concert Orchestra.   

 

 

MATTIS-JOHAN MERE
started trumpet studies at 7 years old at Viimsi Music School in the trumpet class of assistant professor Aavo Ots, under whose guidance the studies have continued since 2017 at Tallinn Music High School. M. - J. Mere has won prizes at both national and international competitions (Best Young Instrumentalist 2017, I place; competition between Estonian music schools, I place; Trumpet Talents, Tallinn, 2018, I place). He has attended the masters courses of Adan Delgado Illada, Ernesto Chulia, Miroslav Petkov, Charlie Porter and Wolfgang Guggenberger and has performed as a soloist in front of the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.
